All Things Infants

In our modern society, new moms often struggle with less family support and help from experienced mothers, because of the need for many adult women to work to help support the family. In the past, many new moms could have a grandmother (usually, their own mother) come and stay for the first couple of weeks or more when a new baby arrived. This unfortunately is often not the case for many new moms today. We want to provide a place for women to get information on a variety of topics related to new motherhood and infant care. Here you’ll find information on breastfeeding, how and when to introduce babies to solid foods, keeping them healthy, support systems for moms, keeping mom healthy, how to get more sleep, and weaning.

All Things Infants: Breastfeeding Resources

How you feed your baby is a very personal choice. Not all mothers are able to breastfeed, but for those who are able to, the experience is often filled with challenges. Two incredible resources to help navigate the ups and downs of breastfeeding a newborn, infant, or toddler are:

Kellymom.com, an evidence-based breastfeeding and parenting website, created by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and mother of three:

La Leche League, an international non-profit organization that promotes and provides breastfeeding education, advocacy, and support:

At AgroshareMD, the topic of breastfeeding, as well as supporting nursing mothers and infants is near and dear to our hearts. If you are interested in more scientific literature about breastfeeding, the NIH is a good place to start. The National Institute of Health’s National Library of Medicine and National Center for Biotechnology Information has a wealth of scientific research and data as well as specific information regarding breastfeeding.
